I’m Kate, Head of People at Dishoom. I’ve spent most of my career in hospitality, which probably says something about my tolerance for pace, unpredictability and strong opinions about lunch.

I joined Dishoom in 2022. I’m nosy in the best possible way. I want to know how people’s jobs really work by getting into the detail so I can understand the business from everyone’s point of view. I like simplifying work, removing friction and helping people spend less time battling process and more time doing their jobs well.

What I love about hospitality is that it’s very human. It’s fast, imperfect, emotional and full of brilliant people, making it both challenging and genuinely interesting.

Outside work, I’m happiest around a table with people who make me laugh and far too much food.
